Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 17, 2026 · FairEnough

FairEnough (“the App”) is a group expense and bill splitter for iOS and Android (Scan & split bills fairly. Bill Splits. No Drama.). This policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and what choices you have.

Summary

Information You Enter

The App lets you record group names, people names, expense items, amounts, tip and tax percentages, currency display preferences, and assignment of items to people. This information is saved in local storage on your device. It is not transmitted to our application servers because we do not operate a backend for split data.

Camera and Photos

If you scan a receipt, the App requests access to the camera and/or photo library. Images are processed on your device for text recognition (Apple Vision on iOS; Google ML Kit on Android) so item names and prices can be suggested. We do not upload receipt photos to our servers. You choose whether to keep the extracted items in a local split.

Export and Sharing

You may share a split as text or PDF, or export history as CSV/JSON using the system share sheet. When you share or export, you choose the destination (Messages, Mail, Files, etc.). We do not receive a copy of shared content.

Purchases

Optional in-app purchases (for example, unlimited splits) are processed by Apple or Google. We do not receive your full payment card details. Purchase status may be stored locally on the device so the App can unlock features offline. Restore Purchases uses your App Store or Google Play account via the store SDK.

Advertising

Free-tier users may watch optional rewarded ads (for example, to earn an extra free split or scan). Ads are provided by Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads. Google may collect device and advertising identifiers under their policies. Unlimited (paid unlock) removes the need to watch ads for those bonuses. See Google Privacy Policy.

Network Use

The App is designed to work offline for creating and editing splits. Network access may be used for in-app purchases, optional ads, and the system share sheet when you choose an online destination.

Data Retention and Deletion

Local data remains on your device until you delete a split, use Clear all splits, or uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes local App data according to your operating system.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy when the App changes. The effective date at the top will be revised. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
